[MOVIE REVIEW] : CINDERELLA

March 16, 2015

I think many of us heard of the fairy tale of Cinderella when we were still kids. We dream to be a princess one day. But when we grow older, this dream became unrealistic. We realize that fairy tales remain as fairy tales. Life ain't easy dude, we got to fight hard to get what we want. Well, to revise this classic fairy tale and seeking for some surprise in Cinderella live action movie, I went to watch the movie.

Synopsis :
After her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella (by Lily James) finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother (by Cate Blanchett) and stepsisters, who reduce her to scullery maid. Despite her circumstances, she refuses to despair. An invitation to a palace ball gives Ella hope that she might reunite with the dashing stranger (by Richard Madden) she met in the woods, but her stepmother prevents her from going. Help arrives in the form of a kindly beggar woman (by Helena Bonham) who has a magic touch for ordinary things.

Just like every other fairy tale, Cinderella end with 'The Prince and The Princess live happily ever after. The movie is magical enough to make me fall again for this fairy tale, the actors and actress, the setting of the movie, the costume (designed by Sandy Powell the well known costume designer) and the music is just perfect. Another successful movie done by Walt Disney. Lily James had brought the character of Cinderella alive, with her action and expression. Positive message is giving out through the movie of Cinderella, have the courage and be kind.

Last, let me be unrealistic for just a minute. May fairy God Mother does exist and magic happen! =)
