[FOOD REVIEW] : THE AUTHENTIC HONG KONG HOT POT IN TELAWI SQUARE BANGSAR | 香港热锅

June 16, 2016

Hot pot is always the best for family and friends gathering. There is no doubt that hot pot brings us closer together, sharing the happiness and indulging into good foods! I found a new hot pot restaurant at Telawi Square, Bangsar which served Hong Kong style hot pot. So me and my friends Jenny, Tenshi and Kelly decided to have a gathering over the hot pot.

Hong Kong Hot Pot has been opened for two months, bringing you a slice of Hong Kong in the city. Most of their ingredients are homemade and imported from Hong Kong to ensure authentic and remarkable taste. Having hot pot in a comfortable oriental designed restaurant is such an enjoyment.

Private rooms that named after the cities in Hong Kong.

We have Kelly in the house, posing for photo purpose, hehe. (I bet she didn't notice I took this photo!)
This homemade herbal drink tastes really good! *thumbs up*
They have few condiments to choose from, include homemade Chilli Sauce, Sha Cha sauce, minced Garlic, Spring Onion, Soy Sauce and freshly cut Chilli to complement the hot pot. My favourite goes to the homemade Chilli Sauce which is really spicy.

Mix this three sauces together as suggested by the lady boss and it tastes good!
Their signature soup base is Sakura Pork Bone soup, it is surprisingly delicate in flavor, with a pleasing sweetness. But what really impressed us is their Pumpkin Soup. We girls like the thick Pumpkin soup so much, slightly sweet with a hint of ginger taste.

Come to the ingredients, they have a wide range of selection. We had Mix Platter (RM68 per person, min 2 person) that comes with Bean Curd Roll and Fried Fish Skin from Hong Kong, Oyster, Japanese Half Shell Scallops, Bean Curd Skin, homemade fishball, Tiger Prawns, Dumplings, Enoki Mushrooms, Premium Sakura Pork slices, Vege, Yee Mee and Udon Mee. ( This platter only served upon order, not on the menu )

Bean Curd Roll and Fried Fish Skin imported from Hong Kong is a MUST TRY here. We were advised to dip the Bean Curd Roll for about 4 seconds and Fried Fish Skin for 1 second only to retain the flavor and the crispiness.

These fresh Japanese Half Shell Scallops taste heavenly!
The paper-thin premium Sakura Pork slices are really fresh and tasty, dips them a few times in the hot pot soup and in a few seconds they are ready to eat.

Premium Sakura Pork slices.

Look at our freshly cooked Tiger Prawn, with moist and firm flesh.

We conclude our feast with homemade Coconut Jelly, I like the milky texture and the right sweetness.

Our group photo with the friendly lady boss, she is so sweet and friendly, keep on ask us are we ok with the foods and drinks. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality!
Overall, it was a satisfying dinner, we enjoy our time here! Fresh foods always taste the best, this explained why Hong Kong Hot Pot is so delicious and healthy. FYI, reservation from 12am-4am can be made upon booking, this means you can have a warm hot pot supper after party or when those late night cravings hit! =)
